This news has sent waves of excitement through the ranks of the Wolves, who found themselves trailing behind the likes of Western Washington, Simon Fraser, and Central Washington in the standings of the 10-team competition.
The rankings are determined by the Dormeyer System, a complex method that computes the average score based on each school’s performance across various conference sports. With 10 points awarded for a first-place finish and adjusted scores for subsequent positions, the system takes into account the final regular-season standings in baseball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball as well as the results of conference tournaments in sports like cross country, golf, and track and field.
The men’s team of WOU achieved a commendable third place with a score of 6.88, closely trailing the teams of Western Washington and Central Washington. On the other hand, the women’s team proudly claimed the seventh spot with 4.96 points.
The Wolves have truly excelled and secured an admirable position in the championship.
