This shift marks a historic moment for Dallas, as they become the first major men’s sports franchise in the United States to transition their local broadcasts from a regional sports network (RSN) to a streaming platform.

An exciting perk for fans is that Victory+ will be a free, ad-supported service, delivering all the thrill of the Stars’ games directly to their screens at no extra charge.

In a bold statement, Stars president and CEO Brad Alberts expressed his pride and excitement for this pioneering streaming platform, declaring, “After years of research and careful planning, we’re thrilled to announce this groundbreaking streaming platform that will revolutionize sports distribution on VICTORY+. Our fans are our top priority, and on VICTORY+, they will have access to 100 percent of Stars content for free through this innovative and unique streaming platform for sports programming.”

This move comes after the club’s local broadcasts were previously carried by Bally Sports Southwest, the RSN formerly known as Fox Sports Southwest. However, the Stars have boldly set their sights on a new frontier, embracing the endless possibilities of online streaming to connect with their devoted fan base.

The Stars are not alone in their pursuit of new broadcast opportunities, with other NHL teams such as the Vegas Golden Knights, the Utah Hockey Club (formerly the Arizona Coyotes), and the Florida Panthers also venturing away from Diamond Sports Group in search of new avenues to share their games with fans.
