The Florida softball team has truly made a splash in the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American honors, and the Gator faithful couldn’t be prouder. Jocelyn Erickson, a standout from Phoenix, Ariz., has carved her name into history as the first-ever Diamond Sports/NFCA Catcher of the Year for the University of Florida. With a .383 batting average, 15 doubles, 13 home runs, and 80 RBI, Erickson’s prowess at the plate is unmatched. Not to mention her phenomenal work behind the plate, where she has left opponents in awe by catching 13 of the 19 base runners attempting to steal – a new program record.
Joining Erickson in the spotlight is junior outfielder Korbe Otis, who has been a game-changer both on and off the field. Otis’s .449 batting average, 77 runs scored, 53 RBI, and 57 walks set her apart as a force to be reckoned with. She stands alone as the only player in the country with 70-plus runs, 70-plus hits, 50-plus RBI, and 50-plus walks. Erickson and Otis truly deserve every accolade for their unwavering dedication and phenomenal talent.
Skylar Wallace, a familiar face in Gator softball, has secured her place in history with her third consecutive NFCA All-American honor as the shortstop. Her .421 batting average, record-breaking 87 runs scored, and 67 RBI are a testament to her legendary status in the game. On top of that, Wallace recently surpassed the NCAA Division I record for runs scored, solidifying her legacy.
The stellar lineup continues with Reagan Walsh and Keagan Rothrock, both earning spots on the NFCA All-American Third Team. Walsh, from Redondo Beach, Calif., showcased her talents with a .373 batting average, 17 home runs, and 63 RBI. Meanwhile, Rothrock, a freshman from Whiteland, Ind., dominated with a 30-7 record and a remarkable 2.43 ERA in the circle. Their incredible performances have set the bar high for future seasons.

With a lineup of all-stars like these, fans are eagerly anticipating their moment on the grand stage. It’s no doubt that the Gators are a force to be reckoned with, and their unwavering determination has paid off in spades.
